Woven Pant Consumption Formula

Woven Pant

Mathematical formula to calculate the fabric consumption of Woven pant in yard is as follows:

Formula : (Length X Width) / (Fab width X 36)

Note: We must add sewing allowance 2" and 3% wastage. Also We need to know the width of the fabric roll.

Now let us calculate the fabric consumption of a Woven/Denim pant in yard.

Meas point
Meas in inch
Sewing allowance
Total
Waist
34

36
Hip
46

48
Thigh
28

30
Bottom

Length

46

Suppose, fabric width is 56”
As per formula the consumption is as follows:

=[{(34+46)/2}+{(28+18)/2}X44]/(56*36)
=3082/2016
=1.52

*Need to add 3% Wastage

=1.57 yds/pc
=19.46 yds/dzn

Note:
**Why 36?
Ans: 1yard=36 inch. To convert inch into yard.

**Why 56?
Ans: The width of fabric roll. It may vary.

  1. But, Its a incomplete consumption. How about the Back pocket , loop and pocket bag's consumption?

  6. Actually if washed then must need add shrinkage. If no wash no need for woven. So far in our Buying house, all consumption is done from CAD.
